This years banquet is barely over but it is time to look ahead to next year. Anyone who would like to be a part of planning the 2007 version of Pack 15's Blue and Gold should let me know as soon s possible so we can let you know what all has to be done and youcan choose where you would like to help.

In 1909, a Chicago business man and publisher, William D. Boyce, was lost in a London fog. As he groped his way through the fog, a boy appeared and offered to take him to his destination. When they arrived the American reached in his pocket for a shilling tip. But the boy stopped him but curteously explaining that he was a Scout and could not accept payment for a Good Turn.

Intrigued the publisher questioned the boy and learned more about Scouting. The boy took him to Baden-Powell's office and once there disappeared into the fog. No one knows what happened to him. He was never heard from again, but he will never be forgotten.

At the Scout training center at Gilwell Park, England, a statue of a buffalo was erected in honor of this "Unknown Scout". His Good Turn is what brought Scouting to our country.
February 8, 1910 Boyce incorporated the BSA.
Arrow of Light CeremonyThe Arrow of Light award is the highest award a boy can earn as a Cub Scout. This is the only Cub Scout badge authorized to be worn on the Boy scout uniform when he graduates into a Troop.

Arrow of Light Award
This year four of our cubs earned this prestigouds award. T.J. WILLIAMS, ERICK RIVERA, GEORGE SHAFFER, JACOB KINTZEL.

A well publicized statistic says that only two percent of all Boy Scouts will earn the rank of Eagle. Nobody ever says what percent of boys ern the Arrow of light. This year's den started with six tiger cubs. Of them only one earned the highest award. The following year there were eleven wolves, of them three more made it to the top. Over the next 2 years den 11 had as many as eight boys, but still only the four who were in the wolf den made it all the way. If my math is right that is four out of twenty boys who were at one time part of this den who earned the Arrow of light. That works out to 20% of cub Scouts who reached the highest level. This is truly something to be proud of. I hope every boy in the dens that follow will reach this level. Sadly statistics show only two of this years Tiger Cubs will make the full journey through CubScouts.
